The challenge
Before the Flowout-built Stripe app, Webflow users faced several challenges when setting up payments:
- They needed external integrations or custom code to connect Stripe.
- Managing products and payment links required switching between multiple dashboards.
- Small businesses and creators lacked a simple, native checkout solution inside Webflow.
Stripe wanted to give Webflow users a solution that would:
- Fit seamlessly into Webflow’s Marketplace ecosystem
- Allow users to manage products and payments natively
- Maintain Stripe’s high security and performance standards
Our approach
Our approach centered on three key principles:
Ideation & research
Our team began by exploring Stripe and Webflow APIs to understand which features were possible, which made sense for users, and how they could deliver real value to both Stripe and Webflow communities. We mapped out use cases that would make payment setup faster, easier, and fully native to Webflow’s ecosystem.
Prototyping
Next, we transformed our research into a Figma prototype, designing user flows for product creation, payment link management, and checkout experiences. This stage helped validate usability and ensure the app felt intuitive before development began.
Building the app
With the prototype validated, we moved into development. The result was a Webflow app that integrates Stripe seamlessly within Webflow, allowing creators to manage products and payments without switching platforms or writing code.
