The challenge

Frontify’s DAM already helped companies stay organized and consistent, but Webflow users still had to jump between platforms and download, upload, and re-check assets.
 That’s why Frontify decided to bring their product to Webflow environment through an app, that would:

  • Integrate securely with Frontify’s API and authentication system
  • Mirror brands, libraries, and folders inside Webflow
  • Deliver a lightweight, intuitive interface for everyday use
  • Meet Webflow Marketplace requirements

Our approach

We treated this project as both an engineering and UX challenge which demanded a blend of technical depth with user-focused design.

Our process started with a deep dive into Frontify’s API, identifying dependencies, authentication flows, and the optimal data structure for Webflow integration. From there we worked in 4 phases:

  1. Design Prototype and feature specification.
  2. Working prototype.
  3. Testing.
  4. Launch.

The goal was simple: make it feel like the Frontify integration is a native Webflow feature.

OAuth 2.0 integration

Ensures secure user authentication and access control, allowing users to view only the content they’re authorized to access within Frontify.

Frontify structure mirroring

Replicates the Frontify hierarchy, providing access to Brands, Libraries, Folders, Collections, Projects, and their associated assets.

Advanced asset management

Enables asset search, filtering, and intuitive navigation for fast content discovery.

CDN integration

Supports adding single or multiple assets through CDN links for optimized delivery.

Asset transformation

Provides tools for asset transformation to suit various use cases and formats.

The results

The project delivered a secure, native Webflow App that eliminates platform switching by integrating Frontify's asset management directly into the Webflow canvas. 

Frontify’s users can:

  • Search for assets and embed them on their Webflow site using Frontify CDN or copy them over to their Webflow assets
  • Work faster with fewer manual uploads
  • Maintain consistent brand visuals across all projects
